What might a truly great paid leave policy for the self-employed look like? And how might we use the opportunity of new paid leave programs to model a truly inclusive benefit system that works for ALL workers? To date, most paid leave programs treat independent workers and the self employed like an afterthought. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

That’s why we’re working with policymakers, advocates, and researchers to include gig workers’ experiences and priorities in policy and program design, as well as helping arts and gig workers advocate for paid leave policies that actually work for them.
