Gig Worker Research

Uplifting excluded workers’ experiences, needs, and preferred solutions

Solving problems starts with understanding how people experience those problems in their daily lives. Yet so much of the existing research and data on gig workers has been commissioned to serve and amplify a predetermined political position, not uncover the actual needs, concerns, and desires of gig workers themselves.

That’s why we commission and support research that fills needed gaps in the field, amplifying the experiences of those in often overlooked sectors, like the arts or informal work, and highlighting opportunities to build protections for those who are most excluded from today’s social safety net.
