Artist Ownership

Expanding ownership power for arts and culture workers

Collective power takes many forms, including political power, governance power, and importantly, ownership power. Expanding artists’ ability to own and control assets, especially via collective and mutual aid models, will help arts and culture workers achieve financial security and ultimately, self-determination.

That’s why we support artists working to expand their ownership power, for example through the Artist Ownership grantmaking portfolio within AmbitioUS, as well as by advocating for artist-centered policies and practices in new blockchain technologies like NFTs.
